Hello, my name is Duli Agarwal. I am a Board member and Director of the Children Immunization Foundation (CIF), formerly known as DC Immunization Welfare Center (DCIWC). The CIF was established to provide life saving vaccinations in order to prevent deadly diseases from spreading amongst the poorest children in

the rural parts of India. Our efforts are approved by the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) # 11567 and our organization is one of many National and International Independent organizations which are eligible to receive donations.

With talk of healthcare reform dominating the political landscape recently, we often overlook the fact that our situation in the United States is vastly superior to those of other countries. For example, in India, over half of country's one billion population lives in extreme poverty and do not have excess to the basic medical care.

However, there are certain steps we can take to help alleviate suffering, particularly amongst the youth who are less fortunate. The CIF has made tremendous strides over the years in this area, specifically in rural parts of India.

Over the years, CIF has provided numerous vaccinations to children from birth to sixteen (16) years of age. After all, it is much easier to prevent illnesses by eliminating their occurrence rather than trying to treat them later. Recently we have expanded our effort to schools in poor communities of Bihar, India and we have plans to expand our outreach to the villages of Uttar Pradesh (UP). In addition, we provide health education in regards to preventing illnesses.

Our mission is of providing vaccinations and preventing illnesses for world's neediest children. But with your help and support we can save lives and prevent terrible diseases.
